Mobile app ‘HSIA Digital Airport Service’ launched
‘HSIA Digital Airport Service’ mobile app has been launched to assist the passengers of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport of Dhaka. The app uses Augmented Reality's Indoor Location Service to provide visual guidance on which direction to reach next inside the airport. Also specific information and instructions can be found in Bengali and English using voice facility.
The app contains updated flight information of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, names and contact details of airlines, list of prohibited items for carriage, list of customs duties, baggage rules, immigration rules, destination airport rules, health rules, expatriate welfare guidelines and facility information, to do’s if you don't get luggage at the belt, airport stay facilities like food, prayer place, shopping, wash room, lounge, currency exchange, taxi, airport map.
In collaboration with Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority and a2i program, this app has been jointly developed by the IT Company Prime Tech Solutions Limited, Spinoff Studio and Innovation Technologies through Mobile Games and Skill Development Project of ICT Division.
Civil Aviation Authority Chairman Air Vice-Marshal Md Mofidur Rahman presided over the opening ceremony of the app on May 10. State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md. Mahbub Ali was present as the chief guest and Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Md. Mokammel Hossain was present as a special guest.
By using the app, all domestic/foreign passengers both departing and arriving at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, and especially expatriate Bangladeshi remittance earners will receive necessary information and instructions all related institutions of the Bangladesh government employed at the airport like Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment, National Board of Revenue, Department of Health, Bangladesh Police, Civil Aviation, Aviation Security. By using it, expatriate Bangladeshi workers can complete all the steps to be done at the airport by themselves without anyone's help, understanding each step and getting specific instructions.
